Dr. James Ferguson

Founding Optometrist

Born in Hammond, Indiana, Dr. Ferguson is a graduate of Illinois College of Optometry earning his Doctorate of Optometry in May of 1990. He is a board certified optometrist specializing in diseases of the eye, as well as, providing routine eye care for glasses and contact lenses. Before opening his locations in Highland and East Chicago, he was the Clinical Director of TLC LASIK Eye Surgery Center in Westchester, IL. He practices at both the Highland and East Chicago locations, along with his son Dr. Liam Ferguson and daughter-in-law Dr. Francia Baez.

Dr. Liam Ferguson

Optometrist

Dr. Liam Ferguson graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then went on to attend and obtain his Doctor of Optometry in 2024 from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. He provides medical exams, disease management, emergency eyecare, soft and hard contact lens examinations, pediatric eyecare, and routine eyecare. He practices at both the Highland and East Chicago locations with his wife, Dr. Francia Baez, and his father, Dr. James Ferguson.

Dr. Francia Baez

Optometrist

Dr. Francia Baez graduated from the University of Florida in 2017 with a Bachelor of Health Science. She then attended the University of South Florida to obtain her Masters Degree in Medical Science in 2019. After obtaining her Masters, she pursued her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL, in 2024. She has spent the last 3 years working in private practice in Northwest Indiana before joining Family Eyecare Center. She provides medical exams, disease management, emergency eyecare, soft and hard contact lens examinations, pediatric eyecare, and routine eyecare. She practices at the Highland and East Chicago locations with her husband, Dr. Liam Ferguson, and her father-in-law, Dr. James Ferguson.
